SEE ALSO...

ZnT-8 Antibody (B-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects ZnT-8 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ZnT-8 (B-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ZnT-8, also known as SLC30A8, is a critical component in regulating zinc homeostasis within pancreatic islet cells, functioning as a zinc-efflux transporter. ZnT-8 is essential for proper insulin maturation, facilitating zinc accumulation in intracellular vesicles, which is vital for insulin crystal formation. ZnT-8′s importance extends beyond insulin processing as a major autoantigen in type I diabetes, making ZnT-8 a significant target for autoimmune response research. Additionally, ZnT-8′s structure, characterized by a multi-pass membrane configuration and six membrane-spanning domains, allows effective zinc ion transport across cellular membranes, influencing various cellular functions and metabolic processes. Multiple ZnT-8 isoforms arise from alternative splicing, further underscoring ZnT-8′s complexity and regulatory potential in health and disease.

Are there any issues with using sc-514715: ZnT-8 (B-9) mouse monoclonal primary antibody on mouse samples?

Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent,we recommend using a directly conjugated primary antibody. Please contact our special orders department for pricing and availability of sc-514715 conjugates.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong Western blot signal in a mouse cell lineIt was the first time that I used this antibody for Western blot, and it can detect a very strong band (about 55 kDa) in a mouse cell line. The size is much bigger than I expected. I will verify the antibody's specificity in my future experiment. I will try whether it will also work in human cells as the SCBT datasheet described.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exellent for my ICC stainingA few days ago, I did immunofluorescence using this antibody in my working cell line (I don't want to mention that cell line here before our manuscript get accepted), and this antibody works great. This antibody is very specific with extremely low backgroud. I will highly recommed it to my friends and colleugues. I will update my review when I get Western blot results next week.
