ZIP1 Antibody (F-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects ZIP1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-ZIP1 antibody (F-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ZIP1, also known as SLC39A1 (solute carrier family 39, zinc transporter, member 1), IRT1, or ZIRTL, is a 324 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein that plays a critical role in zinc transport across cell membranes, which is essential for numerous cellular functions. ZIP1 is predominantly located in the cell membrane and endoplasmic reticulum, where ZIP1 facilitates zinc uptake, an essential cofactor involved in cell growth, development, and metabolism of proteins, nucleic acids, and lipids. Proper localization and function of ZIP1 are vital, as zinc transport is crucial for enzyme activity and overall cellular health. Dysregulation of ZIP1 may contribute to various diseases, including prostate cancer, highlighting ZIP1′s importance in maintaining zinc homeostasis within prostate cells.

What does the (F2) stand for after Zip1?

Asked by: Aurora216
The (F-2) is the clone designation for this monoclonal antibody. It is a unique identifier for the antibody and doesn’t mean anything significant.

I need to use an antibody to detect the protein in samples of bovine origin. Do you know if sc-393345: ZIP1 (F-2) mouse monoclonal antibody will work?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Please contact our Technical Service Department and we would be happy to perform sequence analysis and review our data to answer any questions you may have about additional species reactivity.
