    SEE ALSO...

ZBP-89 Antibody (E-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects ZBP-89 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ZBP-89, also known as BFCOL1, BERF1, and ZNF 148, is a zinc finger transcription factor that plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression, particularly as a silencer element binding factor for Vimentin. ZBP-89 is universally expressed and functions as a Kruppel-like repressor, binding to GC-rich DNA elements in the promoters of key genes such as gastrin, ornithine decarboxylase, and the cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor p21, which is a significant target gene of the tumor suppressor p53. ZBP-89′s interaction with p53 is particularly important, as this interaction not only regulates cell proliferation but also influences the cellular response to stress by retarding the nuclear export of p53, thereby enhancing tumor-suppressive functions. ZBP-89 expression can be induced by agents like trans-retinoic acid or butyrate, which are known to promote terminal differentiation in colon cancer cells, highlighting a potential role in cancer biology. Elevated levels of ZBP-89 have been associated with growth arrest and apoptosis in human gastrointestinal cells, making ZBP-89 a critical factor in understanding cellular mechanisms related to cancer and differentiation.

When should the TransCruz reagent sc-137169 X be used instead of the standard form sc-137169?

    Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. We recommend using the TransCruz reagent form when performing ChIP or GelShift assays. This form can also be used in other applications such as Western Blot or IHC, but the dilution should be adjusted by a factor of 10 to account for the higher original concentration.
