SEE ALSO...

ZBP-89 Antibody (H-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ZBP-89 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ZBP-89 (H-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ZBP-89, also known as BFCOL1, BERF1, and ZNF 148, is a zinc finger transcription factor that plays a crucial role in gene regulation and is universally expressed across different tissues. ZBP-89 is primarily located in the nucleus, where ZBP-89 functions as a transcriptional repressor, particularly for genes involved in cell cycle regulation and differentiation. Nuclear localization of ZBP-89 is vital for modulating the expression of target genes, such as the cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor p21, which is essential for controlling cell proliferation and promoting apoptosis in response to cellular stress. ZBP-89′s ability to bind to GC-rich DNA elements in the promoters of various genes, including those involved in cancer progression, underscores ZBP-89′s importance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and potential as a therapeutic target in cancer treatment. Elevated levels of ZBP-89 have been associated with growth arrest and apoptosis in human gastrointestinal cells, highlighting ZBP-89′s significance in cancer biology and cell fate regulation.

When should the TransCruz reagent sc-137171 X be used instead of the standard form sc-137171?

Asked by: Cweed
Thank you for your question. We recommend using the TransCruz reagent form when performing ChIP or GelShift assays. This form can also be used in other applications such as Western Blot or IHC, but the dilution should be adjusted by a factor of 10 to account for the higher original concentration.
