XRN2 Antibody (H-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects XRN2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). XRN2 Antibody (H-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. XRN2 plays a crucial role in the degradation of mRNA, which is essential for regulating gene expression and maintaining cellular homeostasis. As a nuclear 5′ to 3′ exoribonuclease, XRN2 is vital for mRNA turnover and cell viability, processing not only mRNAs but also ribosomal RNAs and small nucleolar RNAs within the nucleus. XRN2′s ability to interact with RNA polymerase II allows access to nascent RNA transcripts following endonucleolytic cleavage at the poly(A) site or a second cotranscriptional cleavage site, known as CoTC. This autocatalytic RNA structure facilitates rapid self-cleavage, presenting a free RNA 5′ end that XRN2 recognizes and subsequently degrades, effectively acting like a guided torpedo that promotes the dissociation of the RNA polymerase elongation complex. The significance of XRN2 in mRNA degradation underscores anti-XRN2 antibody (H-3)′s value as a research tool for studying RNA metabolism and gene expression dynamics.
