XBP-1 Antibody (F-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects XBP-1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). XBP-1 Antibody (F-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase, phycoerythrin, fluorescein isothiocyanate, and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. XBP-1, also known as tax-responsive element-binding protein 5 (TREB5) in mouse and human, or hepatocarcinogenesis-related transcription factor (HTF) in rat, is a crucial member of the basic region/leucine zipper (bZIP) family of transcription factors. XBP-1 plays a vital role in the cellular stress response, particularly in the unfolded protein response (UPR), which is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis under stress conditions. XBP-1 is primarily located in the nucleus, where XBP-1 regulates the expression of genes involved in protein folding and degradation, thereby ensuring proper cellular function and survival. XBP-1 expression is particularly high in developing bone, indicating involvement in osteoblast differentiation and function. XBP-1 has been shown to interact with various proteins, including other transcription factors and components of the UPR, highlighting importance in cellular signaling pathways.
