Xanthine Oxidase Antibody (A-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Xanthine Oxidase (XO) of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-XO antibody (A-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. XO (A-3) antibody recognizes a protein that plays a crucial role in purine metabolism, specifically in converting hypoxanthine to xanthine and subsequently to uric acid, a process vital for maintaining normal uric acid levels in the body. XO monoclonal antibody (A-3) targets an enzyme primarily found in the liver and other tissues, where XO contributes to oxidative stress regulation through reactive oxygen species production. XO (A-3) monoclonal antibody detects an enzyme that exists predominantly as xanthine dehydrogenase, which can convert to xanthine oxidase under certain conditions, such as oxidative stress or proteolytic cleavage. Elevated XO levels in serum often indicate various pathological conditions, including chronic liver disease and cholestasis, highlighting XO′s importance as a biomarker for liver dysfunction.
