WDR5 Antibody (G-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects WDR5 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-WDR5 antibody (G-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. WD-repeat protein 5 (WDR5), also known as BMP-2-induced gene 3 kb or BIG-3, is a crucial component of the Trithorax (TRX) histone methyltransferase complexes, which are vital for regulating gene expression during vertebrate development. WDR5 plays a significant role in the activation of Hox genes and is essential for global trimethylation of histone H3 at lysine 4 (H3K4me3), a modification associated with active transcription. WDR5 is predominantly located in the nucleus, where WDR5 interacts with histones and other regulatory proteins, facilitating the recruitment of additional factors necessary for chromatin remodeling and gene activation. WDR5 expression is particularly noted in osteoblasts, chondrocytes, osteocytes, and marrow stromal cells, highlighting WDR5′s importance in bone development and differentiation. WDR5′s structure, characterized by seven WD-repeats, is critical for function, as these repeats mediate protein-protein interactions, thereby influencing various cellular processes, including osteoblast differentiation.

You got such strong and specific bands on your Western blot. What protocol did you use?

Asked by: TinTin
We follow the protocol that we have on our website (https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting). We recommend a starting dilution of 1:200 for this antibody.
