SEE ALSO...

VR1 Antibody (E-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects VR1 protein of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). VR1 (E-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The vanilloid receptor 1 (VR1), also known as the capsaicin receptor, is a nonselective cation channel that plays a crucial role in pain perception and is structurally related to the transient receptor potential (TRP) family of ion channels. VR1 is primarily located in primary sensory neurons and vagal nerves, where VR1 serves as a key molecular integrator of various chemical and physical stimuli that can induce pain. Notably, VR1 is activated by capsaicin, the active component of chili peppers, as well as by heat and acidic conditions that arise during inflammation or ischemia. The ability of protons to lower the activation threshold of VR1 highlights VR1′s importance in detecting harmful stimuli, making VR1 a significant target for pain management therapies. Additionally, VR1 may interact with endogenous compounds such as anandamide, further linking VR1 to the cannabinoid signaling pathways in both the nervous and cardiovascular systems.

Could this Ab use in Mouse DRG fluorescent immunostaining?

Asked by: Aurora K
Thank you for your question. This antibody is mouse reactive and should be fine for detection in DRG neurons, as long as VR1 is expressed in your DRG cells. If you have any further questions, please reach out to us at asia@scbt.com, or by phone or live chat directly on our website, www.scbt.com.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great features!Western blots were performed to detect the protein expression of human papillary thyroid cancer BCPAP cells. Cell lysates were extracted by RIPA buffer containing protease inhibitor cocktail. 50 µg of total protein was separated by 10% SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE). The proteins were electroblotted onto nitrocellulose (NC) membrane. The membranes were probed with the TRPV1 primary antibodies (sc-398417), followed by incubation with horseradish peroxidase conjugated secondary antibody. We got a light band at around 100 kDa, and a dark band at around 50 kDa. So i wonder if this product is able to correspond to human TRPV1.
