    SEE ALSO...

VPS54 Antibody (B-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects VPS54 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). VPS54 Antibody (B-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. VPS54, also known as vacuolar protein sorting 54, HCC8, SLP-8p, or VPS54L, is a crucial 977 amino acid protein that localizes to the Golgi apparatus and is a key component of the multi-protein Golgi-associated retrograde protein (GARP) complex. VPS54 plays a vital role in the retrograde transport of early and late endosomes back to the Golgi, which is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis and proper protein trafficking. The gene encoding VPS54 is located on human chromosome 2, a region that contains over 1,400 genes and represents nearly 8% of the human genome. Mutations in genes located on this chromosome, such as ABCA12, ABCG5, ABCG8, and ALMS1, have been linked to various genetic disorders, highlighting VPS54′s importance in cellular function and potential implications in disease mechanisms.
