    SEE ALSO...

VPS53 Antibody (H-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects VPS53 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). VPS53 Antibody (H-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. VPS53, also known as vacuolar protein sorting 53 or PP13624, is a crucial 699 amino acid protein that plays a significant role in protein trafficking within the cell. VPS53 is primarily located in the Golgi apparatus and endosome membrane, where VPS53 is essential for retrograde transport of early and late endosomes back to the Golgi. This transport maintains cellular homeostasis and ensures proteins are correctly sorted and delivered to their functional destinations. VPS53 is a key component of the multi-protein Golgi-associated retrograde protein (GARP) complex, which is involved in recycling proteins and lipids, thereby influencing various cellular processes, including secretion and membrane dynamics. The gene encoding VPS53 is located on human chromosome 17, a region encompassing over 2.5% of the human genome and containing more than 1,200 genes, highlighting VPS53′s importance in cellular function and genetic regulation.

What blocking solution should I use with VPS53 (H-4): sc-514920 monoclonal antibody for Western blot?

    Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. We recommend blocking with Blotto (either TBS Blotto A: sc-2333 or TBS Blotto B: sc-2335). Our Western blot protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting
