VPS39 Antibody (C-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects VPS39 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-VPS39 antibody (C-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. VPS39, also known as vacuolar protein sorting 39, VAM6, or TLP, is an 886 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in trafficking endocytic and biosynthetic proteins to the vacuole, which is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis and function. VPS39 is primarily located in the cytoplasm, as well as on lysosome and endosome membranes, where VPS39 is involved in clustering and fusion of these organelles, facilitating proper sorting and delivery of proteins. VPS39 is expressed ubiquitously, with highest levels found in kidney, heart, lung, brain, placenta, and skeletal muscle, highlighting VPS39′s importance in various physiological processes. The gene encoding VPS39 is located on human chromosome 15, which contains over 700 genes and represents nearly 3% of the human genome. Multiple isoforms of VPS39 arise from alternative splicing, allowing for functional diversity and regulation in different cellular contexts.
