SEE ALSO...

VPS33B Antibody (G-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects VPS33B of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). VPS33B Antibody (G-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. VPS33B, or vacuolar protein sorting 33 homolog B, is a crucial 617 amino acid protein that plays a significant role in vesicle-mediated protein trafficking, particularly to lysosomal compartments. Localization to the cytoplasmic side of the peripheral membrane and the late endosomal membrane is vital for proper functioning of cellular processes, as VPS33B facilitates the docking of vesicles and sorting of proteins destined for degradation or recycling. VPS33B expression is ubiquitous, with highest levels found in the testis and lowest in the lung, indicating an essential role in various physiological processes. Defects in VPS33B are linked to arthrogryposis-renal dysfunction-cholestasis syndrome (ARC), an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by renal tubular dysfunction, neurogenic arthrogryposis multiplex congenita, and neonatal cholestasis with bile duct hypoplasia, underscoring VPS33B′s critical function in human health.
