VPS28 Antibody (E-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects VPS28 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-VPS28 antibody (E-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The vacuolar protein sorting protein 28 (VPS28) plays a crucial role in endocytic and biosynthetic trafficking pathways, specifically in sorting proteins destined for the vacuole. VPS28 is essential for proper functioning of endosomal sorting complex required for transport 1 (ESCRT-1), which is involved in forming transport intermediates necessary for efficient cargo delivery from prevacuolar endosome. VPS28 localizes in cytoplasm and interacts with other class E VPS proteins, facilitating sorting of materials bound for vacuole while preventing misrouting of proteins that cycle through endocytic system. Mutations in VPS28 can lead to accumulation of vacuolar endocytic and late Golgi markers in aberrant endosome-like compartments, highlighting VPS28′s importance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and proper protein trafficking.
