VPS28 Antibody (E-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects vacuolar protein sorting protein 28 (VPS28) in mouse, rat, and human samples through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). VPS28 plays a crucial role in endocytic and biosynthetic trafficking processes essential for delivering proteins to the vacuole, a vital organelle involved in cellular waste processing and nutrient storage. Mutations in VPS28 can lead to accumulation of vacuolar endocytic and late Golgi markers within aberrant endosome-like class E compartments, disrupting normal cellular trafficking. These class E compartments contain endocytosed markers, precursors of vacuolar hydrolases, and markers typically associated with the trans-Golgi network, highlighting VPS28′s role in sorting materials destined for the vacuole away from those that cycle through the endocytic system.
