VLDLR Antibody (E-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects VLDLR (very low density lipoprotein receptor) in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). VLDLR plays a crucial role in neuronal migration during brain development by mediating the interaction between extracellular Reelin and the cytosolic protein mDab1 (mammalian disabled protein), which activates a downstream tyrosine kinase signaling pathway. This interaction is vital for the proper positioning of neurons along the radial glial fiber network, ensuring the correct formation of neural circuits. The structure of VLDLR, characterized by a cluster of cysteine-rich class A repeats, epidermal growth factor-like repeats, YWTD repeats, and an O-linked sugar domain, is essential for function and stability, as VLDLR facilitates receptor folding and secretion in association with receptor-associated protein (RAP). VLDLR expression in key tissues such as the brain, heart, skeletal muscle, and adipose tissue underscores importance in various physiological processes, making anti-VLDLR antibody (E-8) a valuable tool for researchers studying development and disease.
