SEE ALSO...

Vav Antibody (D-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the Vav protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Vav antibody (D-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Vav protein, also known as Vav1 or p95Vav, plays a crucial role in signal transduction, particularly in hematopoietic cells, where Vav1 is exclusively expressed. Vav protein is characterized by its unique structure, which includes an N-terminal helix-loop-helix domain and a leucine zipper motif, both of which are essential for function in mediating interactions with other proteins and facilitating downstream signaling pathways. The presence of an SH2 domain further suggests that Vav1 acts as a substrate for tyrosine kinases, linking receptor activation to cellular responses. The oncogenic potential of Vav protein was first identified through gene transfer assays, highlighting Vav1′s importance in cancer biology. Understanding the structural features and functional implications of Vav protein enables researchers to better explore Vav1′s role in hematopoietic signaling and potential as a therapeutic target in various diseases.

Does this antibody also recognize vav2 and vav3? did you check it? thanks.

Asked by: yiftah
Thank you for your question. This antibody is specific for Vav p95 and should not cross-react with Vav2. If you have any further questions, please contact our European Technical Service team. You can reach them by phone at Toll Free: +49 6221 4503 0, by email at: europe@scbt.com or by live chat directly on our website, www.scbt.com

I am using the LiCor/Odyssey system. Which secondary antibody do you recommend using with Vav Antibody (D-7): sc-8039?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. We recommend using one of our our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins (m-IgGκ) conjugated to CFL 680 or CFL 790. They are suitable for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR/Odyssey and other comparable systems. A complete list of available binding proteins is available on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our Technical Service department by calling 800-457-3801 option 2, emailing scbt@scbt.com, or using the Live Chat function on our website.
