Datasheets
  • VAMP-1/2 Antibody (SP10) is a mouse monoclonal IgM κ VAMP-1/2 antibody, cited in 7 publications, provided at 200 µg/ml
  • raised against synaptic vesicle-containing fractions of immunoprecipitated human brain homogenate
  • recommended for detection of VAMP-1 (amino acids 1-118) and VAMP-2 (amino acids 33-96) of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA
  • m-IgGκ BP-HRP is the preferred secondary detection reagent for VAMP-1/2 Antibody (SP10) for WB and IHC(P) applications. This reagent is now offered in a bundle with VAMP-1/2 Antibody (SP10) (see ordering information below). For additional m-IgGκ BP conjugates see our complete list of Mouse IgG Binding Proteins.

SEE ALSO...

VAMP-1/2 Antibody (SP10) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects VAMP-1/2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-VAMP-1/2 antibody (SP10) is available as a non-conjugated format. VAMP-1 and VAMP-2 proteins, also known as synaptobrevins, play a crucial role in synaptic vesicle exocytosis, which is essential for neurotransmitter release in the nervous system. VAMP-1/2 (SP10) antibody targets proteins located on the vesicular membrane that interact with syntaxins and SNAPs to facilitate synaptic vesicle fusion with the plasma membrane, enabling neurotransmitter release into the synaptic cleft. This process is vital for proper neuronal communication and function, and dysregulation of VAMP proteins can lead to various neurological disorders. VAMP-1 and VAMP-2 are also involved in other cellular processes, including protein and lipid transport within cells, highlighting their importance beyond synaptic transmission. Anti-VAMP-1/2 antibody (SP10) effectively detects these proteins, making this reagent an invaluable tool for researchers studying synaptic function and related pathologies.

I am using VAMP-1/2 (SP10): sc-20039 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
