VAMP-2 Antibody (3E5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects VAMP-2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). Anti-VAMP-2 antibody (3E5) is available in a non-conjugated form, allowing for versatile applications in research. VAMP-2, also known as synaptobrevin-2, plays a crucial role in synaptic vesicle exocytosis, essential for neurotransmitter release in neurons. VAMP-2 is primarily located in synaptic vesicles of presynaptic neurons, where VAMP-2 facilitates vesicle fusion with the plasma membrane, enabling neurotransmitter release into the synaptic cleft. Proper functioning of VAMP-2 is vital for effective communication between neurons, and dysregulation can lead to various neurological disorders. VAMP-2 interacts with several key proteins involved in exocytosis, including syntaxins and SNAPs, forming a complex critical for membrane fusion. Using VAMP-2 monoclonal antibody (3E5) enables valuable insights into synaptic transmission mechanisms and VAMP-2′s role in cellular communication.

I am using VAMP-2 (3E5): sc-69706 antibody for immunoprecipitation, how much antibody should I use?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your question. We recommend using 1–10 µl (i.e., 0.2–2 µg) of antibody with 1 ml of cell lysate. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration. Please find our full immunoprecipitation protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoprecipitation-western-blots
