V-ATPase G2 Antibody (A-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects V-ATPase G2 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). V-ATPase G2 (A-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. V-ATPase G2 plays a crucial role in acidifying eukaryotic intracellular organelles, which is essential for processes such as protein degradation, nutrient storage, and cellular pH regulation. V-ATPase G2 is located in organelle membranes like lysosomes and endosomes, where V-ATPase G2 facilitates proton transport across membranes, creating an acidic environment necessary for enzyme activation and proper cellular processes. The V-ATPase complex consists of two main domains: the peripheral V1 domain for ATP hydrolysis and the integral V0 domain for proton translocation. The G2 isoform interacts with the pore-forming a1C-subunit of L-type calcium channels, supporting proper membrane targeting and function. The genes encoding G1 and G2 V-ATPase subunits are located on chromosomes 9q33.1 and 6p21.3, respectively, highlighting their genetic significance in cellular physiology.

Can V-ATPase G2 (A-6): sc-25334 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your question. Yes, V-ATPase G2 (A-6): sc-25334 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
