UTX Antibody (E-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects UTX protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-UTX antibody (E-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. UTX protein, or ubiquitously transcribed tetratricopeptide repeat, X chromosome, is a crucial 1,401 amino acid nuclear protein that plays a significant role in the regulation of gene expression through its function as a histone demethylase. By demethylating lysine residues on Histone H3, UTX modulates the histone code, which is essential for proper regulation of Hox gene expression, influencing developmental processes and cellular differentiation. UTX interacts with TLE1 (transducin-like enhancer of split 1), and together they act as transcriptional repressors, highlighting UTX′s importance in the Notch signaling pathway, which governs critical cellular interactions and fate specification in both vertebrates and invertebrates. The gene encoding UTX is located on the inactive X chromosome, and UTX expression is vital for maintaining the balance of gene regulation, making UTX (E-8) monoclonal antibody an invaluable tool for researchers studying epigenetic modifications and developmental biology.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-514859 P appropriate for?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
