    SEE ALSO...

UTP6 Antibody (E-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects UTP6 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-UTP6 antibody (E-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. UTP6, also known as U3 small nucleolar RNA-associated protein 6 homolog, C17orf40, or hepatocellular carcinoma-associated antigen 66, is a 597 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in the nucleolar processing of pre-18S ribosomal RNA, which is essential for ribosome biogenesis and protein synthesis. UTP6 is localized primarily in the nucleus, where UTP6 participates in the assembly and maturation of ribonucleoprotein complexes. The presence of five half-a-tetratricopeptide (HAT) repeats in UTP6 suggests UTP6′s involvement in RNA metabolism, particularly in pre-rRNA processing, highlighting UTP6′s importance in cellular function and growth. The gene encoding UTP6 is located on human chromosome 17, a region that comprises over 2.5% of the human genome and encodes more than 1,200 genes, underscoring UTP6′s potential significance in various biological processes and relevance in studies related to cancer and other diseases.
