USP44 Antibody (G-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects USP44 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). USP44 (G-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. USP44 protein, which is 712 amino acids long and belongs to the peptidase C19 family, plays a crucial role in the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway, a vital cellular mechanism that regulates protein degradation and turnover. Specifically, USP44 functions as a deubiquitinating enzyme, catalyzing the removal of ubiquitin from substrate proteins, which is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis and regulating various processes such as signal transduction, transcriptional activation, and cell cycle progression. USP44 is predominantly expressed in the testis and contains a UBP-type zinc finger domain that is critical for enzymatic activity. USP44 is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 12, which is known to harbor over 1,100 genes and constitutes approximately 4.5% of the human genome, highlighting USP44′s importance in both normal physiology and potential disease states.
