SEE ALSO...

USP31 Antibody (4F2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects USP31 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-USP31 antibody (4F2) is available as the non-conjugated monoclonal isotype antibody. USP31, or ubiquitin specific peptidase 31, is a crucial 1,352 amino acid protein belonging to the peptidase C19 family, which plays a significant role in the ubiquitin-proteasome system. USP31 is primarily localized in the nucleus, where USP31 functions as a deubiquitinating enzyme, removing ubiquitin moieties from ubiquitinylated proteins and ubiquitin-fused precursors. This activity protects these proteins from proteasomal degradation, thereby regulating various cellular processes such as signal transduction, transcriptional activation, and cell cycle progression. The regulation of protein stability through deubiquitination is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis and responding to stress signals. USP31 exists in two isoforms due to alternative splicing, which may contribute to functional diversity in different cellular contexts. With broad tissue expression and critical role in cellular regulation, USP31 serves as a key player in maintaining the balance of protein turnover and function within the cell.

I am using USP31 (4F2): sc-100634 for immunofluorescence, what dilution of this antibody should I use?

Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your question. We recommend a starting dilution of 1:50. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration. Please find our full immunofluorescence protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
