SEE ALSO...

USF-2 Antibody (5E9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects USF-2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-USF-2 antibody (5E9) is available in a non-conjugated form, allowing for versatile experimental use. USF-2 plays a crucial role in cellular processes as a transcription factor that regulates gene expression by binding to specific DNA sequences, particularly the core sequence CACGTG found in the adenovirus late promoter. This function is vital for proper regulation of genes involved in cell growth and differentiation, and dysregulation can lead to various diseases, including cancer. USF-2, along with USF-1, forms homo- and heterodimers that exhibit distinct binding affinities and regulatory capabilities, which can vary significantly across different cell types. The presence of helix-loop-helix domains and a leucine repeat in USF-2′s structure is essential for DNA binding efficiency, highlighting the importance of structural integrity in transcriptional regulation. Understanding USF-2 dynamics and interactions is critical for elucidating complex mechanisms of gene regulation in health and disease.

On the data sheet, USF-2 in raw cell looks like have two bands (thicker band on the top and weaker band on the bottom). Can I assume that the top/thicker one is the main band? or does this USF-2 antibody detects two bands?

Asked by: jhee24
Thank you for your question. The expected molecular weight for USF-2 is approximately 44kDa but due to posttranslational modifications the size can vary slightly. If you have any further questions, please contact our Asia Technical Service team. You can reach them by phone at (86 21) 6093-6350, by email at: asia@scbio.cn or by live chat directly on our website, www.scbt.com
