UGT2B Antibody (E-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects UGT2B protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-UGT2B antibody (E-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. UGT2B plays a crucial role in the glucuronidation process, which is essential for the metabolism and detoxification of a wide array of endogenous and exogenous compounds. By catalyzing the addition of glucuronic acid to lipophilic molecules, UGT2B enhances their solubility, facilitating their excretion from the body and thereby reducing potential toxicity. This enzymatic activity is particularly important in the liver, where UGT2B isoenzymes are predominantly expressed, but these isoenzymes are also found in other tissues such as skin, breast, prostate, intestine, placenta, and lung. UGT2B′s ability to modulate the metabolism of steroids, bile acids, and xenobiotics underscores its significance in pharmacology and toxicology, making UGT2B (E-6) monoclonal antibody a valuable tool for researchers studying drug metabolism and the biological effects of various compounds. The human UGT2B genes are clustered on chromosome 4q13, highlighting their evolutionary relationship and functional interdependence.
