SEE ALSO...

UGT1A Antibody (B-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects UGT1A protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). UGT1A (B-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. UGT1A proteins, which are part of the UDP-glucuronosyltransferase superfamily, play a crucial role in the glucuronidation process, a key pathway for detoxifying bile acids and other xenobiotics. This process is vital for maintaining homeostasis within the body, as glucuronidation facilitates the elimination of potentially harmful substances. The UGT1A locus encodes at least ten distinct proteins (UGT1A1-UGT1A10), each exhibiting unique tissue-specific expression patterns influenced by various nuclear receptors, including pregnane X receptor (PXR) and constitutive androstane receptor (CAR). These interactions are essential for regulating the metabolism of drugs and other compounds, and deficiencies in UGT expression or activity can lead to serious genetic disorders such as Crigler-Najjar syndrome and Gilbert syndrome. Using anti-UGT1A antibody (B-4) in research provides valuable insights into drug metabolism mechanisms and UGT1A proteins′ physiological roles in human health.

Hi, could you tell me in this UGT1A antibody recognizes denaturated UGT1As, or if they have to be in their native form (membrane bound)? I have not been able to find this information anywhere.

Asked by: Camu
Thank you for your question. This antibody has only been tested for denaturing reducing conditions in house, so unfortunately we are unable to provide this information. For IHC experiments, it can localize to the membrane.

I need to use an antibody to detect the protein in samples of avian origin. Do you know if this mouse monoclonal antibody will work?

Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your question Please contact our Technical Service Department and we would be happy to perform sequence analysis and review our data to answer any questions you may have about additional species reactivity.
