UBE4A Antibody (B-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects UBE4A of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). UBE4A monoclonal antibody (B-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. UBE4A, also known as ubiquitin conjugation factor E4 A, E4, UFD2, or UBOX2, is a 1,066 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in the multiubiquitin pathway of protein degradation, which is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis by regulating the turnover of short-lived or damaged proteins. UBE4A is primarily located in cortical neurons and tubular kidney cells, where UBE4A interacts with ubiquitin-activating enzymes (E1s), ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes (E2s), and ubiquitin-protein ligases (E3s) to facilitate the assembly of ubiquitin chains. Proper functioning of UBE4A is vital for processes such as cell growth and differentiation, and UBE4A dysregulation can lead to pathological conditions, including scleroderma, characterized by excessive collagen deposition. UBE4A exists in two isoforms due to alternative splicing, which may contribute to functional diversity in various cellular contexts.
