UBE2F Antibody (C-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects UBE2F protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-UBE2F antibody (C-11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. UBE2F, also known as ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2F or NCE2, is a 185 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway, which is essential for regulating protein degradation and maintaining cellular homeostasis. UBE2F is primarily located in the cytoplasm, where UBE2F interacts with ubiquitin-activating enzymes (E1s) and ubiquitin-protein ligases (E3s) to facilitate the transfer of ubiquitin-like proteins, such as NEDD8, to target substrates. Proper functioning of UBE2F is vital, as dysregulation of this process can lead to the accumulation of damaged or misfolded proteins, contributing to various diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. The gene encoding UBE2F is located on chromosome 2, which is significant as chromosome 2 harbors a large number of genes that are critical for numerous biological processes, comprising nearly 8% of the human genome.
