UBE1L Antibody (E-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects UBE1L protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). UBE1L (E-10) antibody is available as a non-conjugated anti-UBE1L antibody. UBE1L protein, also known as UBA7, plays a crucial role in the ubiquitin-proteasome system, which is essential for regulating protein degradation and maintaining cellular homeostasis. UBE1L is involved in the activation of ubiquitin through an ATP-dependent adenylation process, where UBE1L catalyzes the formation of a thioester bond between ubiquitin and a cysteine residue in the enzyme, facilitating the subsequent transfer of ubiquitin to target proteins. This process is vital for marking proteins for degradation, thereby influencing various cellular processes such as cell cycle regulation, signal transduction, and responses to stress. Notably, UBE1L is expressed in tumor cells and has been identified as a target for retinoid therapy, as UBE1L conjugates with ISG15, leading to the degradation of specific proteins and triggering apoptosis in acute promyelocytic leukemia. The ability of UBE1L to modulate protein levels through ubiquitination underscores its importance in cancer biology and therapeutic interventions.
