Tyk 2 Antibody (H-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects Tyk 2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Tyk 2 is a crucial member of the non-receptor Janus tyrosine kinase family, playing a pivotal role in mediating cellular responses to cytokines and interferons, which are essential for the immune system′s functionality. Located primarily in the cytoplasm, Tyk 2 is recruited to activated cytokine receptors, where Tyk 2 phosphorylates signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT) proteins. This phosphorylation triggers the dimerization of STATs, allowing STATs to translocate to the nucleus and regulate the transcription of genes involved in immune responses. Proper functioning of Tyk 2 is critical for maintaining immune homeostasis, as dysregulation can lead to various inflammatory diseases. Furthermore, Tyk 2′s involvement in the canonical JAK-STAT signaling pathway makes Tyk 2 an attractive target for therapeutic interventions aimed at modulating pro-inflammatory responses, highlighting Tyk 2′s significance in both basic research and clinical applications.
