TrxR2 Antibody (F-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects TrxR2 in mouse and rat samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TrxR2 (F-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Thioredoxin 2 (Trx-2) is a vital redox protein localized in mitochondria, where Trx-2 plays a crucial role in maintaining cellular health by scavenging reactive oxygen species (ROS) and regulating mitochondrial apoptosis signaling pathway. Trx-2 protects cells from oxidative stress, which can lead to cell death and contribute to various diseases, including neurodegenerative disorders and cancer. TrxR2, along with TrxR1, belongs to a selenium-containing family of flavoproteins that catalyze NADPH-dependent reduction of thioredoxin and other oxidized cellular components, preventing oxidative damage. TrxR2 inhibition has been explored as a potential therapeutic strategy for treating cancer, autoimmune diseases, and infections, highlighting TrxR2′s significance in both cellular function and disease pathology.
