TrxR2 Antibody (B-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects TrxR2 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TrxR2 (B-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TrxR2, also known as Thioredoxin reductase 2, is a vital redox enzyme localized in mitochondria, where TrxR2 plays a crucial role in maintaining cellular redox balance and protecting against oxidative stress. TrxR2 is essential for cell viability as TrxR2 scavenges reactive oxygen species (ROS) within mitochondria and regulates mitochondrial apoptosis signaling pathway, thereby influencing cell survival and death. TrxR2 includes a conserved catalytic site critical for enzymatic function, allowing TrxR2 to reduce oxidized thioredoxin and other cellular components, which is important for various cellular processes, including DNA synthesis and transcription factor modulation. TrxR2 inhibition has been linked to potential therapeutic strategies for treating cancer, autoimmune diseases, and other conditions associated with oxidative stress, highlighting TrxR2′s importance in both health and disease.
