TrxR1 Antibody (B-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects TrxR1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TrxR1 (B-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TrxR1, also known as Thioredoxin reductase 1, plays a vital role in cellular redox homeostasis by catalyzing the reduction of thioredoxin, which is essential for maintaining the reduced state of thiol groups in proteins and protecting cells from oxidative stress. This function is particularly important as oxidative stress is implicated in various diseases, including cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and cardiovascular diseases. TrxR1 is localized in the cytoplasm and mitochondria, where TrxR1 helps regulate the balance between oxidants and antioxidants, thereby influencing cell survival and apoptosis.
