Trx-2 Antibody (F-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Trx-2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Trx-2 (F-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Thioredoxin 2 (Trx-2) is a small redox protein localized in the mitochondria, where Trx-2 plays a vital role in maintaining cellular health by scavenging reactive oxygen species (ROS) and regulating the mitochondrial apoptosis signaling pathway. Trx-2′s location in the mitochondria is essential for cell viability and helps protect cells from oxidative stress, which can lead to cell death and various diseases. Trx-2 interacts with thioredoxin reductases (TrxR1 and TrxR2), which are crucial for the NADPH-dependent reduction of oxidized thioredoxin and other cellular components, thereby contributing to the overall redox balance within the cell. Inhibition of Trx-2 and thioredoxin reductases has been linked to potential therapeutic strategies for treating cancer, autoimmune diseases, and other conditions associated with oxidative stress.
