Trophinin Antibody (A-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Trophinin of mouse origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Trophinin antibody (A-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Trophinin, also referred to as TRO or MAGED3, is a crucial apical cell adhesion molecule that plays a significant role in forming a complex with Bystin and Tastin, essential for cell adhesion and embryo implantation. Trophinin is predominantly located in chorionic villi trophoblasts and maternal endometrial epithelial cells, with expression dependent on implantation. Trophinin mediates cell adhesion through homophilic Trophinin-Trophinin binding, vital for successful embryo attachment to the uterine lining. Trophinin expression is induced by Choriogonadotropin β and interleukin-1 beta, and elevated Trophinin levels enhance cell adhesion, suggesting that promoting Trophinin expression could improve implantation rates. Trophinin is also present in macrophages and features one MAGE (melanoma-associated antigen) domain, highlighting potential involvement in immune responses and cancer biology.
