TREX-1 Antibody (C-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects three prime repair exonuclease 1 of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TREX-1 (C-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Three prime repair exonuclease 1, also known as trophoblast expressed 1, CRV, AGS1, AGS5, DRN3, HERNS, or DNase III, is a crucial member of the exonuclease superfamily and plays a significant role in DNA metabolism and repair. Three prime repair exonuclease 1 is predominantly expressed in the spleen, liver, thymus, colon, heart, brain, and small intestine, where TREX-1 localizes to the nucleus and functions as a homodimer. TREX-1 is an exonuclease that requires magnesium as a cofactor for activity, demonstrating a preference for double-stranded DNA and operating in the 3′-5′ direction to yield nucleoside 5′-phosphates. TREX-1 interacts with the SET complex, an endoplasmic reticulum-associated complex, and is involved in granzyme A-mediated apoptosis, highlighting TREX-1′s importance in cellular processes. Mutations or defects in the gene encoding TREX-1 have been linked to several diseases, including systemic lupus erythematosus, chilblain lupus, Aicardi-Goutieres syndrome types 1 and 5, and autosomal dominant retinal vasculopathy with cerebral leukodystrophy, underscoring TREX-1′s critical role in maintaining genomic integrity and cellular health.

When should the TransCruz reagent sc-133112 X be used instead of the standard form sc-133112?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. We recommend using the TransCruz reagent form when performing ChIP or GelShift assays. This form can also be used in other applications such as Western Blot or IHC, but the dilution should be adjusted by a factor of 10 to account for the higher original concentration.
