SEE ALSO...

TPR Antibody (H-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects TPR protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-TPR antibody (H-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TPR protein plays a crucial role in the structure and function of the vertebrate nuclear pore complex (NPC), which is essential for regulating the transport of molecules between the nucleus and cytoplasm. NPC is a large macromolecular assembly that consists of multiple protein subcomplexes arranged in a symmetrical structure, facilitating selective exchange of proteins and RNA. TPR is localized to intranuclear filaments of NPC and is involved in import and export processes of nuclear proteins, acting as a critical component of cytoplasmic fibrils that mediate these transport functions. TPR′s unique coiled-coil domain allows anchoring to NPC, while TPR′s acidic COOH terminus is free to interact with soluble transport factors, thereby influencing export of macromolecules from the nucleus. This intricate interplay underscores TPR′s importance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and regulating gene expression through involvement in nucleocytoplasmic transport.
