TPO Antibody (G-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects thrombopoietin (TPO) in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TPO is a crucial cytokine that regulates megakaryopoiesis, the process of platelet production, by promoting the development and maturation of megakaryocytes. TPO is predominantly expressed by mature and progenitor megakaryocytes, as well as by human platelets, highlighting its essential role in hematopoiesis. The mature TPO protein is derived from a 332 amino acid precursor, which includes a 21 amino acid signal peptide that is cleaved during processing. TPO is highly glycosylated, as evidenced by the variation in molecular weight observed in serum isolates, which can influence stability and activity.
