    SEE ALSO...

TMC6 Antibody (H-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects TMC6 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TMC6 (H-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TMC6, also known as transmembrane channel-like 6, EVER1, EVIN1, EV1, or LAK-4P, is an 805 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein primarily localized to the endoplasmic reticulum, a critical site for protein folding and processing. This localization is essential as TMC6 plays a significant role in regulating calcium homeostasis and ion transport across the membrane, which are vital for various cellular functions. TMC6 is expressed in tissues such as testis, placenta, and prostate, and exists in multiple alternatively spliced isoforms. Defects in TMC6 are linked to epidermodysplasia verruciformis, an autosomal recessive dermatosis characterized by heightened susceptibility to human papillomaviruses and increased risk of squamous cell carcinoma in UV-exposed skin. The gene encoding TMC6 is located on human chromosome 17, which encompasses over 2.5% of the human genome and encodes more than 1,200 genes, highlighting TMC6′s significance in human health and disease.
