THTPA Antibody (A-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects THTPA protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-THTPA antibody (A-11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Thiamine triphosphatase (THTPA), also referred to as THTP or THTPASE, is a 230 amino acid enzyme that plays a crucial role in thiamine metabolism, specifically catalyzing the hydrolysis of thiamine triphosphate to thiamine diphosphate, the predominant form of thiamine in cells. This enzymatic activity is vital for maintaining thiamine homeostasis, which is essential for proper neural function and carbohydrate metabolism. THTPA is primarily localized in the cytoplasm and is expressed at low levels across various tissues, including the testis, uterus, prostate, bladder, lung, and kidney. THTPA operates optimally at a pH of 8.5 and exists as a monomer, highlighting unique structural properties that facilitate enzymatic function.
