THAP7 Antibody (F-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects THAP7 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). THAP7 (F-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. THAP7 protein, also known as THAP domain-containing protein 7, consists of 309 amino acids and is a member of the Thanatos-associated protein family, which plays a crucial role in gene regulation and chromatin remodeling. THAP7 is predominantly expressed in the testis and is found throughout the cell, particularly in the nucleus, where THAP7 interacts with chromatin and preferentially binds to hypoacetylated histones H3 and H4 via its C-terminal tail. This interaction allows THAP7 to repress transcription by recruiting histone deacetylase 3 and nuclear receptor co-repressor to specific promoters, leading to the deacetylation of histone H3 and ultimately influencing gene expression. The gene encoding human THAP7 is located on chromosome 22q11.2, highlighting its importance in the context of genetic regulation and potential implications in various biological processes.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-515496 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
