TH Antibody (F-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects TH protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TH Antibody (F-11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The enzyme tyrosine hydroxylase (TH), also known as tyrosine 3-monooxygenase, is crucial for catecholamine biosynthesis, catalyzing the conversion of tyrosine to L-dopa, which is the rate-limiting step in producing neurotransmitters such as dopamine, adrenaline, and noradrenaline. This function plays a vital role in neurological health, as dysregulation of catecholamine synthesis is linked to various disorders, including Parkinson′s disease, where reduced dopamine levels contribute to motor and cognitive deficits. TH gene regulation involves transcription factor binding sites such as the TPA-responsive element and the c-AMP responsive element, essential for gene expression in response to physiological signals. Glia maturation factor and other regulatory proteins upregulate TH, highlighting TH′s importance in both normal physiology and disease states.
