TFIIH p89 Antibody (B-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects TFIIH p89 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TFIIH p89, also known as XPB or ERCC3, plays a crucial role in the initiation of transcription and DNA repair, making TFIIH p89 essential for maintaining genomic stability and proper gene expression. TFIIH p89 is part of the larger TFIIH complex, which is located in the nucleus and is involved in unwinding DNA during transcription and nucleotide excision repair. The presence of ATP-dependent helicase activity in TFIIH p89 allows TFIIH p89 to separate the DNA strands, facilitating the recruitment of other transcription factors and RNA polymerase II. Additionally, the interaction of TFIIH p89 with other subunits, such as p80 (XPD or ERCC2), enhances TFIIH p89′s functionality in both transcription and DNA repair processes. The ability of TFIIH p89 to coordinate these critical cellular functions underscores TFIIH p89′s importance in cellular health and the prevention of diseases associated with DNA damage, such as cancer.
