Testican-1 Antibody (C-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Testican-1 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Testican-1 (C-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Testican-1 is a member of the Testican family, which is part of the larger BM-40/SPARC/osteonectin family of highly conserved, extracellular, calcium-binding sulfate proteoglycans. Testican-1 plays a crucial role in the central nervous system, particularly in the thalamus, where Testican-1 is upregulated in activated astroglial cells following neural injury, such as a cerebral stroke. Testican-1 upregulation in astrocytes mediates neuronal attachment and influences matrix metalloproteinase activation, which is essential for tissue remodeling and repair. Testican-1 is involved in the regulation of matrix turnover in joint and growth plate cartilage, highlighting Testican-1′s importance in both neural and skeletal health. Testican-1′s ability to inhibit matrix metalloproteinases, particularly pro-MMP-2, underscores Testican-1′s role in modulating extracellular matrix dynamics, making Testican-1 a vital target for research in neurobiology and tissue regeneration.
