SEE ALSO...

TCP-1 β Antibody (D-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects TCP-1 beta protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-TCP-1 beta antibody (D-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TCP-1 beta, also known as t complex polypeptide 1, is a crucial subunit of the chaperonin containing TCP-1 (CCT) complex, which is essential for proper folding of cytosolic proteins, particularly actins and tubulins. Located in the eukaryotic cytosol, CCT complex comprises eight distinct subunits, each encoded by different genes, and maintains cellular function and integrity. TCP-1 beta′s role in protein folding is particularly important, as misfolded proteins can lead to cellular dysfunction and various diseases. TCP-1 beta was initially identified in mice, where studies linked this protein to tail-less and embryonic lethal phenotypes, and homologous sequences appear in several other species, highlighting evolutionary significance. Studies of TCP-1 beta in yeast demonstrate molecular chaperone activity for actin and tubulin, underscoring this protein′s critical role in cellular processes across different organisms.

Can TCP-1 β (D-8): sc-374152 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. Yes, TCP-1 β (D-8): sc-374152 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
