TCEA3 Antibody (C-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects TCEA3 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TCEA3 (C-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TCEA3 protein, also known as transcription elongation factor A (SII) protein 3, is a crucial member of the TFS-II family, which plays a vital role in transcription by facilitating RNA polymerase II release from transcriptional arrest. This function is particularly important because DNA arresting sites can lead to locked ternary complex formation, trapping elongating RNA polymerases and halting transcription. TCEA3 activates RNA polymerases′ intrinsic RNA cleavage activity, enabling nascent transcript cleavage and new 3′-terminus formation, thus allowing transcription to resume. Comprising 348 amino acids, TCEA3 features one TFIIS N-terminal domain, one TFIIS central domain, and one TFIIS-type zinc finger, and localizes in the nucleus where TCEA3 binds to RNA polymerase II, assisting in transcription elongation past arresting sites.
