TC-PTP Antibody (F-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects TC-PTP protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TC-PTP (F-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. T-cell protein tyrosine phosphatase (TC-PTP) is a crucial non-transmembrane enzyme involved in regulating cellular signaling pathways. TC-PTP exists in two main isoforms, p45TC and p48TC, which are generated through alternative splicing. p45TC isoform is particularly significant as p45TC localizes to the nucleus and plays a vital role in modulating epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) signaling pathway activity. Upon EGFR activation, p45TC exits the nucleus and interacts with key substrates, including p52Shc, effectively inhibiting EGF-dependent activation of phosphoinositide 3-kinase and protein kinase B/Akt, which are critical for cell survival and proliferation. In glioblastoma cells, p45TC has been shown to suppress extracellular signal-regulated kinase 2 activation and reduce tumorigenicity in vivo, highlighting p45TC′s potential as a therapeutic target. Additionally, TC-PTP is essential for lymphocyte signaling and maintaining hematopoietic homeostasis, as evidenced by severe hematopoietic defects observed in TC-PTP-deficient mice. TC-PTP gene is located on chromosome 18, underscoring TC-PTP′s importance in various cellular processes and disease states.
