TBCA Antibody (C-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects TBCA protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TBCA Antibody (C-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TBCA, also known as Tubulin-specific chaperone A or Tubulin-folding cofactor A, is a crucial 108 amino acid cytoplasmic protein that plays a vital role in the tubulin folding pathway, essential for proper microtubule formation and function. TBCA functions in the cytoplasm, interacting with other cofactors to stabilize and facilitate correct tubulin folding, ensuring proper microtubule assembly. The tubulin-folding supercomplex, including cofactors A through E, maintains cellular structure and function, as microtubules are integral to processes such as cell division, intracellular transport, and cell shape maintenance. TBCA gene is located on human chromosome 5q14.1, a region significant in various genetic disorders, including Cri du chat syndrome and certain leukemias, highlighting TBCA′s importance in both normal cellular function and disease states.
