TARDBP Antibody (E-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects TARDBP protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-TARDBP antibody (E-10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TARDBP, also known as TDP-43, is a crucial nuclear protein characterized by two RNA recognition motif (RRM) domains, which play a significant role in RNA processing and regulation. TARDBP is ubiquitously expressed, with highest levels found in placenta, lung, pancreas, spleen, and genital tract, and is essential for binding to TAR DNA sequence motifs of HIV, functioning as a transcriptional repressor that inhibits HIV-1 transcription. TARDBP is involved in splicing of the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) gene, highlighting TARDBP′s importance in maintaining proper cellular function. TARDBP is a major component of ubiquitin-positive inclusion bodies, which are associated with various neurodegenerative diseases, suggesting TARDBP′s potential role in disease pathogenesis. Due to alternative splicing, multiple isoforms of TARDBP exist, further emphasizing TARDBP′s complexity and significance in cellular processes and disease mechanisms.
